ANANTAPUR: Two social sections which comprised below 10 per cent of the population were having complete control on governance in the State and the Backward Classes and downtrodden, who constituted about 80 per cent were being denied their due share in social, political and economic spheres, speakers at a meeting organised by Socio-Political Analysis and Research Centre (SPARC) said here on Saturday. The meeting was organised to mobilise people for fighting for the causes of social justice and political equality and to create awareness about the formation of alternative political platform to safeguard the interests of the majority in the society, M. Kamal of SPARC said in his opening remarks on the inaugural day of the two-day meeting. Principal of University College of Arts and Social Sciences, Osmania University P.L. Visveshwar Rao explained that along with governance, the two upper castes held sway over economy, education, judiciary and even media.
