DAVANGERE: S. Bangarappa, president of the State unit of the Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister, has said that no single party will come to power in the State and there would be a fractured verdict again. He said the days when a single party could form the government were gone forever, and recalled how those formed by them during the period of Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi used to be stable and effective. Addressing a meeting at Honnali in Davangere district on Friday, Mr. Bangarappa described coalition governments as a bane for the overall development of the State and added that they would hardly be successful in the country. He said that of the total 224 Assembly segments in the State, the Samajwadi Party had fielded candidates in 155 constituencies.
