MANDYA: Elections in Mandya district were peaceful and around 68 per cent polling was recorded on Saturday. The voter turnout had come down compared to the 2004 elections. Maddur constituency recorded the highest polling of 75 per cent, while the lowest polling of 56 per cent was recorded in Malavalli constituency. Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Prasad said not a single incident of violence was reported in the district. He said 480 voters of Heggadahalli in Melukote constituency boycotted elections as the polling booth had been established in their neighbouring village of Kukkarahalli.
