BELLARY: The police, in a raid conducted here on Saturday, seized Rs. 13.21 lakh and took two men into custody. Kashinath Pawar, Assistant Commissioner and Returning Officer, Bellary, said that based on information, police raided a room in a hotel here and found two men with the money. During interrogation, they said they were from Raichur but were unable to give a convincing reply why they had so much money with them. Suspecting that the amount was meant to be used to influence voters, the authorities seized the cash, he said. — Staff Correspondent
