CHANDIGARH: The Indian National Lok Dal on Saturday claimed to have accepted Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s invitation for a public debate on all important issues confronting the State in the run-up to the three Haryana Assembly by-elections in Adampur, Gohana and Indri on May 22 In a statement here, INLD secretary-general Ajay Singh Chautala said his party was ready for a debate with Mr. Hooda at any public platform as soon as possible so that the people could know the truth as to which party or government had carried out maximum development in the State. The debate should be telecast live, he added. Mr. Chautala said it was ironic that the Congress Government in the State was seeking votes on development even though “it had totally failed to provide basic services” to the people. Meanwhile, Mr. Hooda and AICC secretary Ved Parkash addressed election meetings at Indri in support of the Congress candidate, Bhim Sain Mehta.
