Hubli-Dharwad
HUBLI: The blast in the court hall of Judicial Magistrate First Class (First Court) in Hubli on Saturday has been condemned by various organisations and political parties and demonstrations were held to condemn the incident. Soon after the news of the blast spread, several advocates and members of pro-Hindu organisations staged a demonstration in front of the court complex. The protesters charged the police with showing a soft corner for the terror suspects. The BJP candidates for Hubli-Dharwad Central and Hubli-Dharwad East (SC) constituencies, Jagadish Shettar and Virabhadrappa Halaharavi condemned the incident. The Congress leaders, including former president of KPYCC Sadanand Danganavar, Mahendra Singhi, Babajan Mudhol, and Rajashekhar Menasinakai and others also staged a token protest. Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad held a protest meeting at Moorusavir Math Ground and condemned the blast. ABVP state secretary Ravichandra and secretary of Bharat Vikas Parishat Subhash Singh Jamadar termed the incident as a “failure of the police”. He demanded transfer of Police Commissioner Narayan Nadamani. They said that although the organisation had provided inputs about suspicious activities in the twin cities, the police had neglected them.
