Semifinalists spotted

Madikeri: Kootanda will take on Kaliyanda while Anjaparavanda meets Machamada in the semifinals of the Alamengada Cup, the 12th edition of the Kodava hockey festival being conducted at Ponnampet.

On Friday, Kootanda scraped past Nellamakkada 2-1 with two goals from Santosh while Manju reduced the margin.

Amit scored in the 60th minute to give Kaliyanda a 1-0 win over defending champion Mandepanda.

Other results: Anjaparavanda bt Palanganda 3-2; Machamada bt Mekerira 2-0.
