KCR comes to Paul’s defence

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has demanded publication of a white paper on the reported obstruction of donations to an orphanage run by evangelist K.A. Paul.

The Central and State Governments stopped flow of funds to an extent of Rs. 48,000 crore to Mr. Paul’s International Peace Foundation at Sadasivapet in Medak district, Mr. Rao told a news conference here on Saturday.

He said several international organisations donated liberally to the foundation as it was involved in welfare programmes for SCs and STs. About 1,000 orphaned children were given free education at the Sadasivapet campus of the foundation which had earned a good reputation as a service organisation. Mr. Rao warned the Government that the misdeeds against the foundation could have serious consequences. He claimed that Mr. Paul was fair in spending the donations.
