KOCHI: The monthly meeting of Police Residents’ Associations Initiative, an interactive forum between city police and resident associations, decided to form a special package for protection of single women and senior citizens living alone in the city. The police will also start a pre-marital counseling facility under the Women’s Cell. This may bring down domestic discords leading to broken families. The meeting also decided to revamp the Circle Inspector level meetings, where local complaints are settled. Awareness campaigns for preventing atrocities against women and children and against use of narcotic drugs among college and school students were also initiated. The meeting also discussed the possibility of seeking sponsors for appointing more traffic wardens. City Police Commissioner Manoj Abraham, P. Rangadasa Prabhu, president of Ernakulam District Residents’ Associations Apex Council, attended the meeting.
