New traffic regulations

To check traffic snarls in city

KOCHI: The city police have brought in some changes in the traffic flow to check the hold-ups on M.G. Road. The access for vehicles going from Banerjee Road to T.D. Road and Vittappa Prabhu Road via M.G. Road will be closed. Vehicles coming from Banerjee Road will have to go straight up to the traffic signal at Madhava Pharmacy and turn right of M.G. Road. Vehicles coming from south side of M.G. Road and going towards Banerjee Road can turn left near White Planet showroom, take Vittappa Prabhu Road to reach T.D. Road. Parking will not be allowed along Vittappa Prabhu Road, said K.B. Venugopal, Assistant Commissioner of Police, City Traffic (West). The drive against vehicles that are wrongly parked along M.G. Road, Sahodaran Ayyappan Road, Banerjee Road and Shanmugham Road will continue. All such vehicles will be towed away and owners will have to pay recovery fee and fines. Police will not be responsible for any damage caused to the vehicles while towing, Mr. Venugopal said.
