MANGALORE: Life Insurance Corporation of India Ltd (LIC) and Corporation Bank has launched a scheme of payment of insurance premium through cellphones for the debit card holders of Corporation Bank on Saturday. The chairman of LIC of India, T.S. Vijayan, and the chairman and managing director of the bank, B. Sambamurthy, were present at the product launching ceremony, a press release from the bank here stated. The LIC offers multiple choice to its customers for payment of premium. They can pay the premiums at any LIC Branch or on-line through the customer portal at www.licindia.in, through ECS, or through counters of select banks/collection networks. The new SMS mode is one more option for LIC customers. At present, the bank accepts premium through ATMs and internet banking.
