Pseudo police rob junior artistes

HYDERABAD: Four persons posing as policemen robbed two junior film artistes of Rs. 15,000 and a pair of earrings at Filmnagar, the Jubilee Hills police said on Saturday.

The artistes -- Sandhya and Laxmi -- told the police that the quartet barged into their house at Filmnagar during daytime two days ago. Claiming themselves to be policemen, the strangers accused the two women of organising flesh trade and demanded money for not registering a case.

“According to them, one of the intruders was carrying a video camera maintaining that he was a media person and the raid was a joint operation,” the Jubilee Hills Sub-Inspector K. Srinivas said. Even as the women rejected the allegation, the gang forcibly collected Rs. 15,000 and a pair of earrings from them .
