Cop ‘assaults’ women
NEW DELHI: Two women have complained that a sub-inspector of Delhi Traffic Police assaulted them in the Vivek Vihar area of East Delhi on Saturday evening.
The police said it was 5 p.m. when Sub-Inspector Arun Chauhan signalled a car to stop for over-speeding. The vehicle was being driven by the Pankaj, brother of complainants Sakshi and Ruchika.
While the traffic police personnel was issuing a challan, the two women laughed over something. They complained to the police that Sub-Inspector Chauhan suspected they were making fun of him and consequently thrashed them.
