For the collection: Union Minister G.K. Vasan releasing the DVD on documentaries and TV serials, which is being received by actor Sacchu, at a function in Chennai on Saturday. CHENNAI: Seven popular television serials and documentaries, produced by Krishnaswamy Associates, were released in DVD/VCD formats by Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation G.K.Vasan at a function here on Saturday. The titles released included ‘Divine Fragrance,’ ‘Indus Valley to Indira Gandhi,’ ‘Unmai Sudum,’ ‘Thuppariyum Sambu,’ ‘Savitri,’ ‘Oorarinda Rahasyam’ and ‘Ananda Thandavam.’ Another four titles—‘India 5555,’ ‘Nallathor Veenai,’ ‘Theekukul Viral’ and ‘Buddha Jathagam’— will be released soon. They have been brought out by Moserbaer for home viewing. Handing over the first set of CDs, Mr. Vasan said ‘Indus Valley to Indira Gandhi’ and ‘India 5555’ should be preserved as a treasure for future generations, as these would provide them an opportunity to learn about the past. S. Krishnaswamy, managing director, Krishnaswamy Associates, said these CDs were meant for a niche global audience. He recalled the obstacles he and his team members had faced in the past 44 years and thanked Moserbaer for bringing out the films and television serials at affordable rates.
