133 photographs chosen for exhibition

Bangalore: Sagar Photographic Society was started by a group of enthusiasts in Sagar, Shimoga district. They have been encouraging young people from the hilly Malnad region to take up photography and have also been holding annual competitions in this regard. The competition, which is held in two theme-based divisions, is now in its eighth year. “We have received several pictures from 15 districts of Karnataka this time. Of them, 133 have been chosen for a photography exhibition. Three among them have been picked for prizes in each of these categories,” said K.S. Rajaram, director of the society. The winners of this year for the “Rural Life” section are Bharath Kandakoora from Koppal, T.A. Saranga from Sagar and Achuta K. Gowda from Karwar.

Winners

Winners in the “Emotional Moment” section are Hemanth Kumar B. from Barkur, Hemanath Padubidri from Udupi and Mallikarjuna D.G. from Shidlaghatta. Certificates of appreciation and special prizes will be given to winners in both sections. The exhibition will be held in Sagar between June 7 and June 9. It will then travel to other places including Bangalore.
