Seminar on education policies KLCA alleges defaming of the Church by the LDF KOLLAM: The southern regional conference of the Kerala Latin Catholic Association (KLCA) will be held here on May 17 and 18. The conference will be inaugurated by member of the State Human Rights Commission S. Varghese at a function to be presided over by vicar general of Kollam diocese Paul Mullassery. After the inaugural function, a seminar on ‘The Government’s Education Policies and the Latin Catholic Community’ will be held. Social Welfare Advisor to the State government Lida Jacob will present the subject. Seminars on the progress of the Latin Catholic community and on the Coastal Management Zone will also be held on the same day. On May 18, Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi will inaugurate a public meeting as part of the conference. Kollam Bishop Stanley Roman will deliver the benedictory address. KLCA State president Raphael Antony will preside. Diocese president of the KLCA William Ferns told press persons that from the time the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government had come to power, the LDF leaders had been insulting and defaming the Church and its leaders.
