KOLLAM: The third anniversary of the launch of the agitation against clay-mining at Velichikala, near here, will be observed with a convention at the Velichikala junction on May 12. The convention will be inaugurated by Tamil writer Charu Nivedita. The programme is being organised by the Velichikala Action Council which spearheads the agitation against clay-mining. SpeakersThe convention will be addressed by leader of the Adivasi Gothra Mahasabha C.K. Janu, GRO Vasu, State president of Solidarity P. Mujib Rehman, State general secretary of the PDP Subair Sabahi, Kerala Shabdam editor R. Pavithran, DYFI district president N. Santosh Kumar, Youth Congress general secretary Simon Alex and AIYF district secretary Sam K. Daniel, among others.
