Laptops sought

PUDUKOTTAI: The newly-formed Tamizhaga Chief Educational Officers’ and District Education Officers’ Association has urged the Education Department to sanction laptops to all educational officers in the State.
A resolution adopted at its meeting held here on Saturday said that the supply of laptop would ensure more efficient and reliable communication and data storage. Another resolution pleaded for continued sanctioning of special pay drawn by the headmasters and promoted as District Education Officer. The special pay should also be reckoned in pension benefits. It also wanted a hike in pay for the selection grade headmasters promoted as District Education Officer. Resolutions pleading for supply of vehicles for the officials of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan(SSA) wing and quarters for their stay at the work-spots was also passed.
