On a mission: A woman greeting TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu at Morrigudem in Jannaram mandal of Adilabad district on Sunday. INDHANPALLI (ADILABAD DT.): TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday returned to the ‘Mee Kosam’ territory of Khanapur (ST) Assembly constituency as he began his yatra in Adilabad district with the same name. During the latter half of his stint as Chief Minister, he aided developmental programmes in the district, especially in Kadem mandal under Khanapur constituency, that were part of the ‘Mee Kosam’ programme undertaken by the district police in 2002-2003. The 24 km-long Gangapur road linking that remote village to the mandal headquarters was laid by villagers with labour contribution by policemen. The programme brought laurels to the district police and the TDP Government as it encompassed curbing of extremism. The latest ‘Mee Kosam’ yatra too turned out to be encouraging for the party as people braved the hot sun all along the villages between Luxettipet and Utnoor to listen to Mr. Naidu, who was running about five hours behind schedule. At Luxettipet crossroad, the TDP president unveiled a statue of N.T. Rama Rao. Addressing a road show here, he assured the Yellampalli project oustees of taking up their rehabilitation as the first task of his government in case the party is voted back to power. Indhanpalli being the first stop of his election campaign in Khanapur constituency, the TDP president pleaded with the gathering there to vote for party candidates S. Venugopalachary for Adilabad Lok Sabha and Ramesh Rathod for Khanapur seats. He continued his yatra up to Talamadgu mandal headquarter village through some sections of Boath and Adilabad Assembly segments.
