LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, has demanded a CBI probe into the alleged nexus between former Union Minister, Akhilesh Das, who has recently quit the Congress party and joined the Bahujan Samaj Party, and a senior official of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat for allegedly acquiring huge landed property in Lucknow and Noida. Dr. Joshi said at a Press conference here over the weekend that she had received complaints about Gram Samaj land being allegedly acquired by Mr. Das. The Gram Samaj land is situated behind his college in Lucknow, she said. She demanded an inquiry by the State Government into the alleged acquisition of property by Mr. Das and the senior official of the Chief Miinister’s office. She dismissed the former Minister’s remark that he had been sidelined in the Congress. Meanwhile, the Congress has refuted the allegation by the Bahujan Samaj Party Government that the Centre was discriminating against U.P. in the allocation of Central funds. The PCC president said not a single proposal sent by the State was pending with the Centre. She added the State Government had failed to provide utilisation certificates for several schemes. She said the chargesheet against U.P. Govt. would be issued on Monday.
