Keerthi Effervescent, charming and can hold everyone’s attention with ease. Telugu channels these days are flooded with more and more new faces as there is a spurt in the programming. The industry never had any dearth of anchors since the dawn of multi-channel era but certain deficiency in terms of real good talent coupled with captivating presence and enchanting mannerism was always felt. If Jhansi’s poise took her to the top and Udaya Bhanu chirped her way to stardom, Suma withstood wave after wave of competition from the new breed with her ease in front of the camera. Apart from the general entertainment channels, the anchors are having a field day with news channels too coming out with programming that has a touch of fun and contest. Prashanthi stages a comeback and is hard to ignore with much improved presence and improvised presentation. The game show for women is well conducted and her style appears set for a good run ahead in terms of success.Another one is Keerthi who had a long run with ‘Navvula Nazarana’ on Gemini a couple of years back and now returns with her breezy presentation. The anchor who started her stint with camera when she was just around 14 years was also part of concepts such as ‘Yours Lovingly’ and ‘Lucky Chance’ then. Now, just look forward to more and more shows from her. The TV5 in particular has emerged as a good platform for the anchors from entertainment channels to explore new shows. Hope soon other anchors including Surekha Vani of ‘Moguds and Pellams’ fame and Swathi of ‘Colours’ will also be seen soon on news channels! T. LALITH SINGH
