Student drowns

A 20-year-old boy drowned in a well at Sevanthampatti near Thuvarankurichi in the district on Sunday. The deceased identified as V. Sathish was a catering student and hailing from Chennai.

Police said Sathish and his friend Rajapandi were having a bath in a well when the former suffocated and drowned. The body was sent to the Government Hospital in Manapparai. The Thuvarankurichi police have registered a case.
