Run more buses to Kochuveli station

Developing the Kochuveli railway station as a satellite terminal of the Thiruvananthapuram Central station is welcome. The latter finds the train traffic too much to handle. However, the Kochuveli station is not easily accessible, as only a few buses ply there from the bus terminals at East Fort and other places. Buses should be run for passengers taking trains and alighting at the station. Prepaid autorickshaw services should be introduced.

The platforms should be connected by a footbridge, as, at present, people walk on the railway lines to get to them.

Give coach position at all stations

Elderly people find it difficult to board trains at intermediate stations without knowing the coach position. Now, these passengers have to take the help of the stationmasters, which may not be forthcoming always. The railway authorities should, therefore, be kind enough to instruct the stationmasters to let passengers know the coach position.

Theft on the rise at Poojappura stadium

Umbrellas, caps, bats and other articles of morning walkers and others at the Chithira Tirunal Stadium, Poojappura, are being stolen. A mobile phone was stolen a few days ago.

The thefts are suspected to be the work of a team. At this rate, the thieves may even dare to take away two-wheelers on which people come to the stadium.

The City Police Commissioner may look into the matter.

Revise water tariff

People in the State capital often block important roads with empty pots demanding potable water. This is something the State government should take serious note of.

The Kerala Water Authority may be short of funds to augment water supply, the main reason being the low tariff, coupled with huge bill arrears. There is an urgent need to increase the tariff.
