This Day That Age
The University of California on May 11 announced that Mr. K. Balaraman, The Hindu Correspondent, will receive one of its first biennial foreign Press awards for his “excellence and objectivity in reporting American and United Nations scenes.” The awards were established this year in honour of foreign correspondents functioning in this country. This year’s nine winners will receive their awards at a banquet to be held in Los Angeles on May 14. Among other recipients of the awards are Mr. Patrick O’Donovan (Observer, London), Mr. Henry O. Brandon (Sunday Times, London) and Mr. Denys Herbert Smith(Daily Telegraph, London).
