BANGALORE: Repolling in four booths in as many constituencies passed off peacefully on Monday. As many 72 per cent of voters exercised their franchise at booth number 46 in Ramanagara constituency in Ramangara district. As many as 39 per cent cast their votes at polling booth number 6A in the Malleswaram constituency, 43 per cent at 119A booth in the Shivajinagar constituency and 52 per cent in booth number 50 in the Gandhinagar constituency in Bangalore city, according to officials at the office of the Chief Electoral Officer here. Malfunctioning of electronic voting machines (EVMs) during the first phase of polling on Saturday resulted in repolling in the four booths. The Election Commission has issued a stern warning to principals of educational institutions, as some complaints of issuing bogus student identity cards had been recorded and criminal procedures were being initiated, said an official press note.
