Pandanallur Subbaraya Pillai dead

CHENNAI: Bharatanatyam teacher Pandanallur Subbaraya Pillai, the last student who directly learnt from legendary Pandanallur Meenakshisundaram Pillai, died on Monday.

He was 94 and is survived by three sons and two daughters.

A descendent of the Thanjavur Quartet, Subbaraya Pillai was the son of Chockalingam Pillai.
