‘Congress government’s decisions to be reversed if TDP comes back’ Naidu flays Government for going back on IIT proposal at Basar ADILABAD: Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday vowed to establish a tribal university in Adilabad on coming to power again. He said some of the Congress government’s decisions will be reversed if the TDP was voted back to power. Addressing a press conference at Talamadugu mandal headquarters before starting on his ‘mee kosam’ yatra in Adilabad district on day two, Mr. Naidu said decisions like naming the medical colleges after Rajiv Gandhi will be reversed. The name of Rajiv Institute of Medical Sciences in Adilabad will be changed, he stated. Sure of successTalking about education in the backward district of Adilabad, the TDP president said the temple town of Basar will be developed into a great centre for learning. He resented the decision of the Congress government in not establishing an Indian Institute of Technology at Basar. At the roadshows held in different villages of Talamadugu and Tamsi, Mr. Naidu exhorted people to vote for TDP candidate S. Venugopalachary in the byelection to Adilabad Lok Sabha. He said, given the enthusiastic response of people in the district to his yatra, he was sure that the Telugu Desam Party was going to win the byelection. ‘Weakened’ TRSHe said the TDP will perform much better in all the constituencies across Telangana districts as the Telangana Rashtra Samiti has weakened considerably in the region. The TDP president criticised Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for encouraging regional conflicts and rampant corruption in the State. He said the Government has lost the confidence of the people because of corruption. At Kothur village in Talamadugu mandal, he interacted with shepherds and groundnut farmers. He also participated in the ‘Mala Mahagarjana’ meeting at Adilabad before proceeding via NH 7 to enter Boath Assembly segment.
