BERHAMPUR: The Non-gazetted State Government employees of Kandhamal district opposed their mass transfer order issued by the District Collector on Monday. They observed cease-work. Over 100 non-gazetted officials were recently transferred by the Kandhamal Collector at one go. As per the administrative officials it was an effort to clean up the administrative network as most of these officials were serving at a place for long periods. But the NGO association has opposed this action, alleging that the transfers were meant to harass some officials. Meanwhile, action against non-tribals from Kandhamal district who have used fake tribal caste certificates to get government jobs continued.
