Lightning kills five children

Rourkela: Five children were killed after being struck by lightning at Kaputika village, about 125 km from here, this afternoon.

Police said all the boys, in the age group of 10 to 15 years, were sitting in an open field after a âyagnaâ when they were hit by the thunderbolt.

While others, sitting and standing nearby, escaped unhurt, the five were seen lying on the ground. They were later declared dead by a doctor. PTI
