Tele-counselling for SSLC students

Thiruvananthapuram: The National Rural Health Mission, in coordination with the Department of Education, is launching a State-wide tele-counselling programme for early identification of and intervention in the emotional problems faced by students around the time exam results are announced. The NRHM and the Education Department have sought technical assistance of the Centre for Advanced Research in Health and Human Behaviour (CARB), a professional NGO.

The 24-hour counselling sessions were launched on May 12, to be continued through May 13, when SSLC exam results are being announced. Counselling will be made available during the day on May 14 and 15 also. Parents, friends of students and students themselves, who could be facing stress/ anxiety or other emotional issues may access the service from all districts. Proper follow-ups will be arranged as per requirement.
