COLOMBO: As the suspense on the chief ministerial candidate of the ruling combine for the Eastern Provincial Council (EPC) continued, the opposition on Tuesday threatened to protest against alleged rigging of the elections.

United National Party (UNP) leader and former Prime Minister, Ranil Wicremesinghe, took exception to what he termed as “indifference” of the Commissioner of Elections to the malpractices indulged in by the ruling party.
