I did not fault EC: Raghuveera
HYDERABAD: Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy on Monday clarified that he had not faulted the Election Commission for putting a halt to Rythu Chaitanya Yatras in the districts where byelections were being held.
Responding to the EC’s decision to issue him a notice seeking a clarification on his comments, he said he had only said it was not proper on the part of the EC to stop the programme that was aimed at educating farmers in their preparations for the ensuing kharif cropping. “I am prepared to face any action if the EC feels my remarks in the interests of the farmers are wrong,” he asserted.
He recalled that he had appreciated the EC that examined the issue and gave its green signal for the yatras.
