Brahm Prakash Ayurvedic Sansthan to be set up Ad hoc homoeopathy teachers to be regularised NEW DELHI: The Delhi Cabinet on Monday retained the minimum age for drinking in the Capital at 25 years. There had been widespread speculation that it might be lowered to 21 years. However, realising that the issue could snowball into a major controversy in this year of elections to the Delhi Assembly, the Cabinet decided against lowering the age. Various other issues were also discussed at the meeting and the Cabinet approved creation of a Power Stabilisation Fund to support the cause of consumers in Delhi. It also gave its assent to establishment of “Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurvedic Sansthan, Delhi” and decided to regularise the services of ad hoc and contract teachers of the Indian system of medicine or homoeopathy stream. After the meeting, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced that the Cabinet had approved modalities as well as implications for creation of a Power Stabilisation Fund to support the cause of consumers. SubsidyShe said the fund would be used for grant of subsidy as per Government notification and to provide short-term loans to power utilities to meet power purchase gap and requirements arising out of the increase in spot gas price cost. Also, it would help in meeting the high cost of power purchase during the peak winter and summer months and to meet any other contingency that might arise. The fund, it was announced, was being created on the recommendations of a committee comprising officers of the Power Department, the Finance Department, the Power Finance Corporation, the Planning Commission and the Union Power Ministry.
