A station ‘out of reach’

Lack of connectivity is one of the major hurdles faced by commuters who arrive by the long-distance trains at the Kochuveli railway station.

With the mail and express trains sanctioned in the railway budget set to commence services from Kochuveli later this year, the demand to introduce bus services is gathering momentum. The Railways have now put the ball in the court of the State governm ent. Divisional Railway Manager Titus P. Koshy says the Railways are ready to extend all necessary facilities to the road transport authorities by way of free parking and circulating area for KSRTC buses. The Railways also expressed willingness to provide space for setting up the infrastructure for pre-paid autorickshaw service.
