It is no vacation for them

Laid back summer vacations or holidays are a thing of the past for children today.

The parents might reminisce about summer vacations which meant boisterous outdoor games, visiting grandparents in native places and generally a time for fun and frolic when children were totally left alone.

No more. Summer vacations today are mere school breaks for children to attain a different set of skills – swimming, sports, music, personal development…. The fun element is not forgotten, but the accent seems to be more on skill development.

Many children – and parents too – seem to be having gruelling schedules during the vacation too, as they run from one coaching camp to the other.
