Reject BJP, voters urged

Staff Correspondent

DAVANGERE: Ram Vilas Paswan, Union Minister and president of the Lok Jana Shakthi, has called upon the people to reject the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Legislative Assembly elections.

Addressing a public meeting as part of the election campaign, Mr. Paswan said that the BJP had been raking up the issue of Ram temple and Babri Masjid at the time of elections in a bid to gain political mileage.

He urged the people not to encourage communal forces which might divide the country in the years to come.

He appealed to the people to support and vote for Mutton Mohammed Ali, Lok Jana Shakthi candidate for Davangere North Assembly segment, who is supported by the Congress that had no candidate in the constituency.

Congress leader Shamanur Shivashankarappa, the former MLC K. Mallappa, and Lok Jana Shakthi general secretary Prabhavathi were present.
