Two officials caught
BANGALORE: Lokayukta sleuths caught two officials from the Horticultural Department while they were allegedly accepting money for issuing a cheque sanctioned by the department for rejuvenation of pomegranate crop. Vijayalaksmi Sanganal, senior assistant director of Horticulture, Chitradurga, and H.S. Venkatesh Dixit, the first division clerk, had asked K.V. Hanumantha Reddy to pay Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000 respectively for issuing a cheque of Rs. 30,000. The Lokayukta police, who received a complaint about this, caught the two while they were allegedly receiving the money. — Staff Reporter
