Fisherman dies

PUDUKOTTAI: A fisherman I. Sankar alias Sankaralingam (20) of Chellanendhal village died while fishing in the sea on Monday. The incident happened when Sankar was operating the handle of his fibre boat in full gear to prevent it from running aground. The rod, which got ejected out, hit Sankar. Two other fishermen, who were accompanying him, brought the boat to the shore and took him to the GH in Jegadapattinam where he was declared ‘brought dead.’ The Jegadapattinam police have registered a case.
