HYDERABAD: The celebrations to mark completion of four years in office by the Rajasekhara Reddy Government at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Wednesday will be a low key affair. Thanks to the model code of conduct for the byelections in force, the Congress leadership has resolved to restrict the day-long State plenum that has been organised to mark the occasion to highlight the Government’s achievements. The meeting to be held at the sprawling Lal Bahadur stadium comes amid the hectic poll campaign for the 16 assembly and four Lok Sabha seats is expected to devote considerable time to discuss the party’s strategy for the byelections. The event is billed as purely party affair in wake of the by polls and stringent Election Commission of India guidelines will be attended by the AICC secretary Iqbal Singh and AICC coordinator P. J. Kurien. The AICC general secretary in charge of AP affairs M. Veerappa Moily presence is still not confirmed because of the second phase of elections to Karnataka Assembly. However, APCC president D. Srinivas and Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy will be among a number of party leaders attending the plenum. The programme will commence at 9 am. The party confined the participation to the PCC, DCC, Zilla and Mandal Parishad elected representatives and chiefs of urban local bodies.
