Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: Education Minister M.A. Baby, on Tuesday, inaugurated the cleaning up of office premises under the State-level pre-monsoon sanitation programme. Mr. Baby inaugurated the campaign by scooping up algae from a pond on the premises of the Sri Padam Palace at Fort that houses the office of the Archaeology Department. He said the success of the Clean Kerala campaign depended on the level of public participation. V. Surendran Pillai, MLA; S. Krishnan Potti, councillor of Fort ward; A. Mohankumar, director of Clean Kerala; and G. Ramachandran, director, Archaeology, were present. Employees of the District Collectorate cleaned up the office premises. Collector Sanjay M. Kaul inaugurated the drive. Additional District Magistrate Sivarajan Nair, deputy collectors and other officials participated. The waste collected from the premises was transferred to the Corporation’s garbage vehicle.
