High Court to hear writ petitions on Friday Government not to implement the system till then Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday adjourned to May 16 the hearing on writ petitions filed against the decision of the government to introduce a single-window system for admission in aided and government higher secondary schools. The government also submitted before Justice P.N. Ravindran that it would not implement the decision till May 16. The petitions were filed by the corporate manger of schools under the archdioceses of Changanaserry and others. The petitioners alleged that that the mode of selection and method of allotment under the system were vague. There was no mechanism to check or verify whether the admission had been done in the order of merit. The system which was introduced in the schools in Thiruvananthapuram district last year was a total failure. When the admissions were over in schools in the other districts in July, admission in schools in the district could be completed only by November. They contended that the right of the minorities to administer education institutions under Article 30(1) of the Constitution had also been affected. No executive order was passed implementing the system.
