NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will address a joint session of the first elected Parliament of Bhutan during his visit to Thimphu on May 16 and 17.

He will also dedicate the 1020 MW Tala hydroelectric project built with Indian assistance and lay the foundation for the 1095 MW Punatsangchhu hydroelectric project.

Dr. Singh’s visit is in keeping with the tradition of regular visits and exchange of views at the highest levels between the two countries, said a Foreign Office news release.

He will have discussions with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Prime Minister Lyonchen Jigme Y. Thinley.
