Two youths snatch gold chain from woman in Perungalathur

People who were witness to the crime tried to nab the youths

but in vain


TAMBARAM: A gold chain weighing about seven sovereigns was snatched from a woman in Perungalathur on Tuesday evening.

According to the police, Sachu (38), a resident of Rajeswari Nagar and working in a private hospital in Tambaram, was returning home.

At 5.45 p.m., two youths riding a motorcycle stopped the vehicle near the woman, snatched her chain and fled. People who were witness to the crime tried to nab the youths but in vain.

The woman sustained injuries on her neck and hands. The Tambaram police are investigating. Only a couple of days ago, a woman was relieved of her gold chain by a motorcycle-borne gang in Selaiyur.
