BANGALORE: Retirement does not mean goodbye to a career. The Dignity Foundation on Tuesday announced the launch of Dignity Network and www.dignityseconcareers.org to enable senior citizens to be productive. Speaking on the occasion, Sheilu Sreenivasan, founder-president, Dignity Foundation, said: “It is our privilege to be able to provide the unique services of Dignity Network and second career opportunities to the senior citizens of Bangalore. We hope to build a larger community of active senior citizens, who in turn will help change the meaning of post-retirement life in India We have seen that there is a sizable population of senior citizens who wish to put their expertise to good use again.” Social support The Dignity Network provides various social support options to senior citizens. They include the Dignity Helpline to provide assistance to senior citizens in need; the Dignity Dialogue which informs members of the activities undertaken by Dignity during the month; Dignity Evenings to provide relaxation and entertainment and the Voice of Dignity, a monthly newspaper to articulate and address the concerns of senior citizens.
