‘Chain snatchers’ held

The L.B. Nagar police arrested a man and his two sons on charge of committing a series of chain snatchings. Cold chains weighing 323 grams worth Rs. 3.25 lakh were recovered . The arrested persons, P. Ramulu, 48, his sons, P. Venkatesh, 22, and P. Somesh, 19, were earlier arrested in other theft cases. Manish Jain, who purchased the stolen chains, was also arrested.

Extortionist held

The Madhapur police arrested N.M.M. Lachi Raju, 42, who allegedly extorted Rs. 3 lakh from a businessman claiming himself as Maoist.
