CHENNAI: Going by the speed at which application forms are being sold, engineering is still the career of choice for Tamil Nadu students. Over 1.06 lakh forms have been sold in the first four days of the sale of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2008 applications, overtaking the total figure of 1.04 lakh applications sold last year.

On Tuesday, 9,089 applications were sold, taking the tally so far to 1,06,792. According to TNEA secretary Rhymend Uthariaraj, another 30-40,000 applications are available at various centres across the State. The sale opened on May 10 – when 65,734 forms were sold – and will close on May 26.
