We have high regard for EC: Rajasekhara Reddy

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy said on Tuesday that his government was not adopting a confrontationist approach to the Election Commission.

He said he did not find anything wrong in Agriculture Minister N. Raghuveera Reddy’s observations about the Rythu Chaitanya Yatras.

Replying to a query whether the government was adopting a belligerent stand towards the EC after it found prima facie evidence of violation of the model code , he said: “We have the highest regard for the EC and it is an important tool in the functioning of a democracy.”
