Gilchrist named DC captain

HYDERABAD: The Deccan Chargers team management announced on Tuesday that Adam Gilchrist will lead the team in place of the injured V.V.S. Laxman in the remaining DFL-Indian Premier League matches.

In a press release here, the franchisee also informed that Rohit Sharma would be the vice-captain of the team.

“Adam’s contribution in all aspects of building the team has been invaluable right through the season.

“His positive attitude, limitless energy and astute leadership skills would make a significant impact on the team,” the statement said.
