Muthupandi fires SPIC to victory

CHENNAI: Muthupandi (100 n.o.) guided SPIC to a nine-wicket win over TI Cycles in a TNCA second division match here recently.

The scores: II div.: TI Cycles 162 in 43.2 overs (Manivannan 49, V. Krishnaji four for 65, M. Panchapakesan four for 40) lost to SPIC 163 for one in 31.1 overs (Muthupandi 100 n.o., Sundaramurthy 53 n.o.).

Rising Stars 164 in 45.5 overs (N. Saravanan 40, N.N. Sivakumar four for 46, S. Padmanaban four for 49) lost to ICF 165 for three in 36.4 overs (Vijay Shankar 73, Vijay Ragavan 66 n.o.).

Vibhu, Saif shine

S.R. Vibhu of St. John’s ES & JC and Mohammed Saif of SDAT CA struck half-centuries on Tuesday to steer their sides to the final of the Jaikrishna memorial State-level under-15 cricket tournament.

Aircel takes honours

Aircel defeated Vodafone by eight wickets to win the VS Sports Network Telecom Twenty20 cricket tournament.
