Census of enterprises in Pudukottai

Assessment of sick units to be made

PUDUKOTTAI: The fourth all-India census on micro, small, medium enterprises is being conducted in the State and hence all enterprises either already registered or awaiting registration with filed entrepreneur memorandum (EM) number assigned to them in the district will be surveyed.
The enumerators authorised by the General Manager, District Industries Centre, Pudukottai, will approach the enterprises for collection of data during May – June, a press release issued by Collector D. Uthirakkumaran here on Wednesday said.
Information about production, raw material, fuels, employment, exports, fixed assets, plant and machinery, equipment, products, services, net worth, loan taken by the enterprises and the sum outstanding and a few classificatory characteristics would be collected during the census. An assessment of sick and incipiently sick micro and small enterprises would also be made through the data.
The release appealed to the entrepreneurs to extend their maximum cooperation and furnish accurate information to the enumerators. Information collected during the census would be kept confidential and used for statistical purposes only, it added.

In case no enumerator approaches the unit for collection of data during the census period, the entrepreneurs of micro, small and medium enterprises registered permanently or those awaiting registration may report to the General Manager, District Industries Centre, functioning at the Collectorate campus here (phone number 04322-221794) or the Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce, Chepauk, Chennai – 600 005, the release added.
